At the meeting, Chen Shenglin, Deputy Director of the Marine Development and Fisheries Bureau of Binzhou City, delivered a speech. He said that shrimp, shellfish, and harvest insects have become the three leading products in seawater aquaculture in Binzhou City. Especially in the Fengnian Insect Industry, with the strong care and support of the Artemia Egg Branch of the China Aquatic Products Processing and Trading Association, the Artemia Egg Industry has undergone more than 40 years of development and has become a major fishing industry with an annual processing and sales of over 1200 tons of high-quality Artemia eggs and a production value of nearly 500 million yuan. The processing technology of brine shrimp eggs in Binzhou City has reached a world leading level, and relying on excellent product quality to continuously expand the market, has become a beautiful and beautiful business card for Binzhou Fisheries. In 2016, as the main producing area of brine shrimp eggs in Binzhou, Wudi brine shrimp eggs were listed as the first batch of agricultural product geographical indication registration protection products by the National Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Faced with the increasing demand for artemia eggs, entrepreneurs boldly went abroad and successively established artemia breeding bases in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and other CIS countries. Every year, foreign artemia eggs are continuously transported to China for fine processing, and then sold at home and abroad, becoming the pacesetter of Binzhou's fishery industry in connection with the "the Belt and Road".

Chen Shenglin said that as the "opening bait" for many fishery products, the development of brine shrimp related industries is of great significance for Binzhou City to vigorously develop efficient ecological modern fisheries such as shrimp and shellfish, and actively promote the "Five Actions" of green and healthy aquaculture. The next step is to continue to assist the development, transformation, and upgrading of the brine shrimp industry in Binzhou City with the help of the association and branch, and to build a platform for the common development and mutual benefit of the brine shrimp industry in the country.

This meeting summarized the development, achievements, and current situation of the association since October 2016, and invited experts to report on the progress of related work in the brine shrimp egg industry. The content of the industry standards for large brine shrimp and shelled eggs was introduced and discussed. Subsequently, the attendees exchanged and discussed topics such as "Global Artemia Egg Harvesting", "Current Sales Market Status of the Artemia Industry", and "Analysis of Future Market Trends".
